The Joseph House receives a $50,000 grant from Truist Bank

Joseph House announced it received a $50,000 donation from Truist Financial Corporation to help in the organization’s effort to reduce recidivism.

With great pleasure and genuine excitement, we announce an award from Truist. It is our goal to help as many formerly incarcerated men as possible. We are determined to show the human side of the data and the logic of the much-debated reentry topic. We believe that recovering the possibility to dream is essential for those working on restarting their new lives. We are humbled by this award and know it will help us achieve our mission.

“If we want formerly incarcerated individuals to build full and free lives, then it’s critical that we support efforts to help them achieve self-sufficiency and employment,” said Emily Dawkins, North Florida regional president for Truist. “Our grant to Joseph House will provide critical job training and other essential services to prevent
recidivism and enable long-term success, it’s also how we fulfill Truist’s purpose to inspire and build better lives and communities.”

“The great work Joseph House is doing can’t be put into words, they are having such a positive impact on our communities, said Chris Mills, Tallahassee Market President for Truist. “I had the great privilege to meet one of these residents that is owning his own economic success through his new landscaping small business. We are thrilled about our partnership, as we also look forward to working with these residents to teach them financial literacy in the not-too-distant future.”
