The Florida Strong Families Tax Credit was established in 2021 to support eligible charitable organizations that provide services focused on child welfare and well-being. Safe Families for Children is honored to be one of only a few organizations (ask us about other who are eligible) in the state approved as a designated charity. Under the program, corporate taxpayers can make private monetary contributions to a designated charitable organization and receive a dollar-for-dollar credit against the following Florida taxes: Corporate income tax – Companies who file a F-1120 qualify. S corporations usually file a federal return (Fed- 1120S) but it is a pass-through, and so do not file a F-1120 with the state. An LLC will only qualify if they file an F-1120 with the state. C corporations typically file.
Excise tax on liquor, wine, and malt beverages; Gas and oil production tax; Insurance premium tax; and, Use tax due under a direct pay permit.

Why Safe Families?
Florida has one of the largest foster care systems in the country and most children enter it due to preventable neglect, not physical abuse.
We catch these families before they fall. Nearly all (98%) of the families we serve have no further involvement with child services.
Our programs identify the root causes of a family’s struggle and provide them with the support and services they need to be successful long term.
Studies have shown that Florida counties see a decrease in the need for foster care after we launch our programs in the area.
We are 100% privately funded and 91% of our funding goes directly into programs, not overhead.
Our program is evidence-based – and a proven model to improve the safety of children and the well-being of families.
