Erin Tilton Recognized on 2023 NAWL Rising List

Stearns Weaver Miller announced that Land Development, Zoning & Environmental Shareholder Erin Tilton has been recognized as a member of the 2023 National Association of Women Lawyers (“NAWL”) Rising List. Now in its third year, the NAWL Rising List is made up of individuals advancing in their careers, helping others advance in their careers, and fighting to advance women under the law. This recognition is especially important in highlighting those who evoke NAWL’s mission to provide leadership, a collective voice, and essential resources to advance women in the legal profession and advocate for the equality of women under the law. Erin will be recognized at NAWL’s Mid-Year Meeting on March 16-17, 2023.

An experienced litigator, Erin represents private and public sector clients before local, regional, and state agencies, courts, and elected bodies on environmental, real estate development, and land use matters. She is particularly skilled in developing and implementing litigation strategy as it relates to obtaining, challenging, and defending development approvals. Erin has been consistently recognized as a Rising Star in Florida Super Lawyers, an Up & Comer for Florida
Trend’s Florida Legal Elite, and on the Ones to Watch list for The Best Lawyers in America.

Erin dedicates a significant portion of her practice to serving the local Tallahassee community. She was recently sworn in as President of the Tallahassee Bar Association (“TBA”), after having served in various leadership roles, including as Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, President of the Young Lawyers Section Board of Directors, and Co-Editor of the Tallahassee Bar Bulletin. Erin is now the ninth woman to take on the role of TBA President in the organization’s more than 100-year history. She holds the record of being the youngest TBA President.

Erin also serves on the Urban Land Institute of North Florida’s Capital Region Leadership Council and the Stetson Lawyers Alumni Association Advisory Council. She is an active member of The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section, where she serves on the Section’s Development and Land Use Planning Committee.
