PRESENTING SPONSOR

Founded in 2006 by Ron Sachs of Sachs Media, the Best & Brightest Awards celebrates Leon County’s most outstanding high school seniors. The program recognizes students who demonstrate excellence in their field of study, leadership, academic achievement, and a deep commitment to serving their schools and community.

Unlike traditional scholarship programs, Best & Brightest looks beyond GPA—rewarding dedication, initiative, and impact across 15 diverse categories that reflect the many ways students shine.

HISTORY & IMPACT

Over the past 20 years, the Best & Brightest Awards have become a cornerstone of recognition for young leaders in Leon County. The program has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships to deserving students—an investment in both their futures and the strength of our community.

In partnership with Sachs Media, Envision Credit Union (now Additional Financial), the Tallahassee Democrat, and the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, Best & Brightest unites schools, families, and community partners to celebrate excellence and service.

To inspire future leaders, the program also introduced the 8th Grade Essay Contest, encouraging middle school students to reflect on the importance of community service before they begin their high school journey.
