Whole Child Leon Teams Up Red Hills Market for The Giving Pump at Shell for Drivers to Fuel Up for a Good Cause

Whole Child Leon is teaming up with Red Hills Market for The Giving Pump at Shell to drive positive change in Leon County. In this unique community giving promotion, customers are invited to give back by fueling up! Starting September 1st and running through October 31st, a portion of the purchases made by consumers who use the designated pump at the 10 Tallahassee Red Hills Market Shell stations across Tallahassee will directly support Whole Child Leon.

The Giving Pump will be specially marked with purple signage at all 10 Red Hills Market Shell gas stations to inspire customers to support this local charity when fueling up. With no additional cost when filling up, it’s easy for anyone to participate in the program.

Whole Child Leon is a community-wide effort to provide children with the best possible start by ensuring they have everything they need to thrive. Individually, many agencies and organizations serve one dimension of the well-being of children. Whole Child Leon seeks to engage the entire community in a commitment to the youngest generation for a brighter future for all. “At Whole Child Leon, we support the well-being of the child and the family (biological or chosen) they are a part of,” said J’ere Clark, Interim Executive Director of Whole Child Leon. “We aim to do this by collaborating with other organizations, identifying solutions, and promoting change through programming and services such as our Pediatric Behavioral Health Navigation Program. We are grateful to have a partner in Red Hills Market as they continue to support our mission of working together to ensure children thrive.”

As a family-owned business started in Tallahassee over 75 years ago, Red Hills Market has become a neighborhood gathering place that actively supports the local community. Their approach to integrating the community into every aspect of their operations is evident through their emphasis on local support, offering fresh local finds, and maintaining strong personal connections with customers, underscoring
their dedication to the community’s well-being. This year, nearly 7,500 Shell stations across the US are participating in this two-month Giving Pump initiative to support 552 local charities.

“It is important to Red Hills Markets/RCD to help the youngest generation in our community,” said Charles Rooney, Rainey Cawthon Distributor Inc. President. “The work Whole Child Leon does in the community is important and we are proud to be supporting them with the Shell Giving Pump initiative.”
