TMH Foundation Receives $10,000 From Truist for COVID-19 Relief Efforts

GRANT PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR TMH CARELINK, THE TELEMEDICINE NETWORK

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) Foundation has received a $10,000 grant from Truist Financial Corporation to help expand telemedicine to protect healthcare providers and patients from potential exposure to COVID-19.

Thanks to generous community support, TMH has quickly expanded TMH Carelink, the regional telemedicine network to provide excellent healthcare to patients in their homes, at rehabilitation centers, rural healthcare clinics and other remote locations. The grant from Truist will provide three telemedicine units, which allow for the remote delivery of healthcare to greatly reduce the risk of infection for healthcare providers and patients.

“We are grateful to Truist for their generous gift, which is helping TMH bring this life-saving technology to patients throughout our region,” said Nigel Allen, TMH Foundation president and chief advancement officer. “Truist has stepped up when our community needs it the most, and we are so thankful.”

The grant is part of the financial services company’s Truist Cares initiative, a $25 million philanthropic pledge announced in March to support basic needs, medical supplies and financial hardship relief due to COVID-19.

“Truist is enthusiastic about its partnership with the TMH Foundation to support healthcare services in the Tallahassee region during such turbulent times,” said Chris Mills, market president with Truist. “Their efforts directly align with the pillars of the Truist Cares initiative. We are very thankful for the outstanding service that TMH is doing for the community we are proud to call home.”

Truist has 10 locations in Tallahassee including subsidiary McGriff Insurance Services.
