The Village Square to Host 13th Annual Tallahassee Town Hall in partnership with Leadership Tallahassee, Tallahassee Democrat, and WFSU

(TALLAHASSEE, FL) – April 23, 2025 – There’s nothing more quintessentially American than a town hall meeting. At its core is the important founding principle that political foes must become partners as they engage conflicting ideas in order to govern. It’s the old-fashioned spirit of rolling up our sleeves and just getting it done.
On Thursday, May 1, 2025, at WFSU Studios or online, The Village Square – in partnership with Leadership Tallahassee, the Tallahassee Democrat, and WFSU – will host the 13th Annual Tallahassee Town Hall.

This program hosts commissioners from the City of Tallahassee and Leon County to have a constructive (and neighborly) discussion about where we are as a community, where we’re going, and what the challenges out there on the horizon might be. This year’s town hall will be moderated by WFSU’s own Tom Flanigan. Scheduled to join the conversation from Leon County are Commissioners Christian Caban, Carolyn Cummings, Nick Maddox, Rick Minor, David O’Keefe, Bill Proctor, and Brian Welch; and from the City of Tallahassee are Mayor John Dailey and Commissioners Jeremy Matlow, Curtis Richardson, and Diane Williams-Cox.

The Town Hall program is a continuation of an ongoing series of unique local forums sponsored by The Village Square, a nonprofit formed by local leaders from both sides of the political divide to improve civility and promote civil discourse among community members.

This event will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM both in person at the WFSU Studios, 1600 Red Barber Plaza, online via Zoom, and live streamed on live.wfsu.org, YouTube, and Facebook. It’s free and open to the public. All in-person attendees are required to register. Advance registration is encouraged as space is limited and admittance will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, starting with those who are pre-registered. Doors will open at 5:30 PM.
