AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. (WCTV) — Hundreds of Tallahassee business owners have descended upon Amelia Island for the annual Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce conference.
This year, about 520 people are registered for the conference.
The idea is to get out of the “bubble,” and get away from some of the day-to-day distractions and dig into some of the biggest issues facing Tallahassee.
Throughout the weekend, different panels and listening sessions will be held. Among some of the key issues, attendees will be diving into safety on the southside, the real estate market and rising home prices and how the tourism industry is growing, among other topics.
Chamber leaders say picking the topics are very intentional.
“We look at the headlines of what’s happening in our community and we really try to see what are the projects that are going to move our community forward,” said Heidi Otway, the Tallahassee Chamber Chair. “We want to make sure that all the folks that come here, they get to hear first hand, exactly what’s happening.”
