Stearns Weaver Miller and Attorney Gigi Rollini Named as Members of
America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend’s Feeding Hope Society

TALLAHASSEE, FL – October 10, 2019 – Stearns Weaver Miller is proud to announce that the Firm and attorney Gigi Rollini have been named as members of America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend’s Feeding Hope Society.
America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend, an affiliate of Feeding America, is a nonprofit charity whose mission is to “feed the hungry in the Big Bend . . . and to educate and engage the community in the fight against hunger.” The Feeding Hope Society is comprised of donors who have given $10,000 or more over their lifetime of giving. Gigi Rollini, a Shareholder in the Firm’s Tallahassee office, will serve as the inaugural Chair of the Feeding Hope Society.
The Firm will be initiated along with other members at the Inauguration for the Feeding Hope Society in Tallahassee on October 17, 2019. The event will also celebrate the dedication of America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend‘s recently purchased headquarters. The 40,000+ square foot warehouse accepts donations and distributes to local food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, senior community centers, and children’s feeding programs.
Rollini has been involved with America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend since 2012. She served on the Board of Directors for six years, including two terms as Board President. During her presidency, Rollini oversaw the hiring of a new CEO and the search and move to the new headquarters. Rollini was also instrumental in strengthening the organization’s financial systems and community outreach, and the procurement of a $1MM legislative appropriation for disaster resiliency, which included purchasing the building and installing a generator to qualify as the federal natural disaster hub for North Florida. During her Board service, the organization has seen the largest expansion of food distribution in its history, from 5-6 million pounds of food distributed, to over 12 million pounds this past year.
“I am honored to be part of one of the most energized and critical nonprofits in Tallahassee and the Big Bend region,” said Gigi Rollini. “In the seven years that I have been involved with America’s Second Harvest, we have made great strides in the fight against hunger. I have seen first-hand how thousands of people’s lives can be improved by the efforts of volunteers and donations from the community. The new headquarters will provide us with additional resources, infrastructure, and efficiencies to make an even greater impact. I know the future will be strong for this organization, and thank the members of the Feeding Hope Society for their unwavering support and commitment to bettering our community.”
Melanie Leitman, an attorney in the Firm’s Tallahassee office, also currently sits on the Board of Directors. In addition to America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend, the Firm proudly supports Florida’s Feeding America foodbanks, including Feeding South Florida and Feeding Tampa Bay.
