Shelly Bell has served as the Director of Lively Technical College (LTC) since June 2017. In the four years of Shelly’s leadership, Lively has transitioned from a vocational center to a thriving technical college. LTC has become the leading provider of career and technical training in the Big Bend Region. Shelly has dynamically orchestrated Lively’s “Career in a Year” educational opportunities offering students affordable training designed to meet the needs of local and global employers. LTC focuses on being a leader in workforce development by maximizing value for students, employers, and the North Florida region through educational excellence.
Lively occupies two sites, including the main campus and the campus at Tallahassee Regional Airport. Lively also offers dual enrollment programs at Rickards High School, Godby High School, Chiles High School, and Wakulla High School. In addition, LTC provides part-time career enhancement courses for city, county, and state governmental agencies and private businesses.
A graduate of Florida State University, Shelly earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education and her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. Shelly possesses a solid educational background as an experienced principal with a demonstrated history of working in the primary/secondary education industry. A strong education professional, she is recognized as a leader in Classroom Management, Lesson Planning, Educational Technology, Differentiated Instruction, and Curriculum Development.
Shelly is recognized across the Big Bend region for her community leadership. She is active with numerous workforce development and educational organizations across the state and locally with the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.
Outside of the education profession, Shelly is a mom, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many. In addition, she is the lead cheerleader for her two talented sons, both of whom are high school students and gifted golfers. An avid sports fan, Shelly can be found camping, bike riding, swimming, and golfing.
