TALLAHASSEE, FL – In an inspiring show of community spirit and compassion, Red Hills Market partnered with Second Harvest of the Big Bend for their Fueling Up for Kindness campaign, raising an impressive $8,786.14 to help fight hunger in the Big Bend region.
Held throughout the month of March, this fundraiser rallied customers, community members, and local businesses to support a cause that directly impacts thousands of families in need. With every dollar raised translating into multiple meals through Second Harvest’s efficient distribution model, this initiative will provide critical food assistance to those facing food insecurity. “We’re incredibly grateful to our customers and community who showed up in a big way,” said Charles Rooney, President of Rainey Cawthon Distributors. “Fueling Up for Kindness isn’t just a slogan—it is a mission. And thanks to the generosity of so many, that mission is now feeding real families in our own backyard.” Second Harvest of the Big Bend, a regional nonprofit food bank, serves 16 counties in North Florida and plays a crucial role in supporting food pantries, soup kitchens, schools, and other community organizations. The funds raised will go directly toward providing nutritious food to underserved populations, especially during a time when demand remains high. “We’re so thankful to Red Hills Market for stepping up as a leader in the fight against hunger,” said Monique Ellsworth, CEO of Second Harvest of the Big Bend. “This donation will go a long way in helping us continue our work—and remind people that kindness truly fuels change.”
