HCA Florida Capital Hospital, an affiliate of HCA Florida Healthcare, announces the opening of its $5 million, 10-bed, Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), deepening the hospital’s ability to provide intensive care for sick and premature infants born at Capital Hospital.

With the addition of the NICU, HCA Florida Capital Hospital will be able to maintain continuity of care for patients. The Level II NICU is staffed by board-certified neonatologists, pediatricians and advanced practice neonatal nurses to care for sick and premature infants. Qualified providers will be in the hospital 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to support the ongoing health of NICU babies. In addition, the Level II NICU will have specially-trained pharmacists, dietitians, occupational therapists and speech therapists on-site to support the healthy development of the NICU babies.
