Pebble Hill Plantation was developed into a prime 20th century shooting plantation by the Hanna family of Cleveland, Ohio. Elisabeth (Pansy) Ireland Poe, a Hanna granddaughter and the last family member to own the property, willed that the plantation become a museum at her death.  Enjoyed as a winter shooting estate by the Hannas, the property includes numerous outbuildings, gardens, and open spaces.  The oldest building on the property today is the 1901 Log Cabin School where Mrs. Poe and her brother were tutored during the family’s vacations south.  Pebble Hill has been open to the public since 1983 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
