Lacy “L.J.” McMullen has been appointed to serve as the Director of
Development with ALCOM Corporation’s Capstan Marketing, LLC. The decision came after an
exhaustive search for an individual who shares the Company’s dedication to at helping Tallahassee
and the central North Florida region create additional business opportunities, and overcome the
generational obstacles faced by a significant number of Tallahassee families.
McMullen is a well-known emerging leader in the Capital City and was named a 2025 Future 5
Award recipient by Access Tallahassee, a program of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of
Commerce that honors the region’s top young professionals. As a Tier 1 Workforce
Development Professional who has led employer partnerships and strategic initiatives at
CareerSource Capital Region, Mr. McMullen has assisted local businesses with launching
training programs, navigating hiring resources, and securing grant funding to address
community-wide employment challenges. He is the founder of Capital Career Pathways, a
workforce development organization in the Tallahassee area, and serves as a member of
Tallahassee’s Affordable Housing Advisory Committee.
Mr. McMullen’s active engagement as a volunteer ambassador and board member across
several local organizations, including the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce has
afforded him the opportunity to make several substantive contributions and elevate public
awareness. By way of his editorial columns in the Tallahassee Democrat “Your Turn” op ed
feature, writing extensively on local redevelopment, the need for increased civic participation,
and better collaboration between Tallahassee’s business chambers, he has helped alter our
understanding of what is means to “grow” Tallahassee.
