Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) and the TMH Foundation proudly announce Golden Gala 2024, featuring Journey. With 48 million albums sold in the U.S., Journey is one of the best-selling rock and roll bands in history. Their worldwide sales of over 100 million records make them one of the top-selling bands of all time.
This is the 40th anniversary of the Golden Gala, Tallahassee’s premier black-tie event and TMH’s largest annual event. The gala will take place on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center. Tables can be purchased at TMH.ORG/gala.
Hosted by the TMH Foundation, the gala advances TMH’s mission of transforming care, advancing health, and improving lives. Proceeds from the 2024 event will benefit Tallahassee Memorial’s Emergency Services, specifically, the Bixler Trauma and Emergency Center.
Located on TMH’s main campus, the center is the only Level II Trauma Center in the Big Bend region. Collectively, TMH recorded more than 135,000 Emergency and Urgent Care Center visits to its two Urgent Care Centers and two Emergency Centers last year.
“About two-thirds of all Leon County EMS patients are transported to TMH, and all patients in the area requiring care for traumatic injury are transported to the Bixler Trauma and Emergency Center,” said Mark O’Bryant, TMH President & CEO. “Our teams work continuously to meet the rigorous standards of being a Level II Trauma Center, which is vitally important to the health and wellness of our region. The community’s generous support through the TMH Foundation will help us continue to provide the most advanced emergency and trauma care. Going to the ER can be a scary time for our patients. These funds will also help TMH continue to enhance the patient experience so that we have a warm, welcoming, and easier to navigate Emergency Center.”
“For 40 years, with the support of our donors and friends, the TMH Golden Gala has provided critical resources, allowing TMH to improve patient care throughout our region,” said Nigel Allen, President of the TMH Foundation. “I am thrilled that proceeds from next year’s event will benefit the Bixler Trauma and Emergency Center and the patients it serves. Through the generosity of donors and gala attendees, we will purchase new equipment, technology and update family and patient waiting areas with the overall goal of making a trip to the emergency room as stressless as possible.”
Journey earned 25 gold and platinum albums, in addition to the 15-time platinum RIAA Diamond Certified, 1988 Greatest Hits album. The band also had 19 top-40 singles, six of which reached to the top 10 in the U.S. Journey, with lead vocalist Arnel Pineda, just completed its 38-city North American 50th anniversary Freedom Tour.
This year’s gala will include a limited number of VIP Tables that will be located on the floor of the arena near the stage. Additional details are available online at TMH.ORG/Gala.
