Joining forces to end childhood hunger and illiteracy
Jacksonville, FL: Hunger Fight, Inc. is delighted to announce North Florida Pediatrics as their Heritage Partner. North Florida Pediatrics, a Lake City, Florida headquartered practice that is committed to providing the children of North Florida quality, compassionate healthcare, has agreed to a lifelong partnership to end childhood hunger and illiteracy.
In conjunction with assisting Hunger Fight with their capital campaign to purchase their own facility, North Florida Pediatrics Heritage Partnership brings the pediatric group on board that Hunger Fight has long been seeking. “Having the expertise and consult of such caring and compassionate pediatricians to help further our mission of providing not only food to children in need, but nutritious foundational meals, is something we have been longing for,” said Sherri Porter, Founder and Executive Director of Hunger Fight.
With 10 offices in the North Florida area, North Florida Pediatrics is a central resource for all of a child’s healthcare needs. Part of that comprehensive care will be working with Hunger Fight to identify children in need and making sure they are provided with meals and books. Hunger and illiteracy are two of the biggest issues facing children and through joint marketing and community initiatives, Hunger Fight and North Florida Pediatrics will be able to serve more of those in need.
With North Florida Pediatrics contribution to the capital campaign, Hunger Fight has achieved 47% of their goal to purchase their own warehouse by October 2023. By owning their own warehouse, they will be able to host more in-house packing events and provide more meals and books to those in need. As a Heritage Partner, North Florida Pediatrics will have a room named after them at the current and future Hunger Fight headquarters. You will also start to see joint branding on meal pouches and on the Feed the Need to Read book bags.
