Healthgrades Names HCA Florida Capital Hospital Obstetrics & Gynecology Award Recipients

HCA Florida Capital Hospital announced that it has been recognized by Healthgrades as a 2022 Gynecologic Surgery Excellence Award™ recipient. This distinction places HCA Florida Capital Hospital among the top 5% of hospitals evaluated for quality outcomes in gynecologic surgery by Healthgrades, the leading marketplace connecting doctors and patients.

“I am incredibly grateful to the staff and physicians for their efforts to provide outstanding care to our patients,” said Shawn Ramsey, DO, Medical Director and OBGYN at HCA Florida Capital Hospital. “Our hospital is committed to the health of women demonstrated by treating this population with the highest quality evidence-based care.”

Healthgrades analyzed gynecologic surgery patient outcomes data for all patients from 16 individual states from 2018-2020. During this time, if all hospitals included in this analysis, as a group, performed similarly to hospitals receiving the Gynecologic Surgery Excellence Award, on average, 7,725 patients could have avoided complications.*

Additionally, from 2018-2020, patients treated in hospitals receiving the Gynecologic Surgery Excellence Award, have, on average, a 46.8% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the Gynecologic Surgery Excellence Award.*

We are also proud to announce that we are five-star award recipients for gynecologic procedures, vaginal deliveries, C-section deliveries and hysterectomies.

“Through our 2022 Obstetrics & Gynecology Awards, we seek to recognize facilities who excel in delivering superior care for Ob-Gyn patients,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer and head of Data Science, Healthgrades. “We are proud to name HCA Florida Capital Hospital as a 2022 Gynecologic Surgery Excellence Award recipient and look forward to their continued efforts to make clinical quality a priority and deliver outstanding care across a range of gynecologic procedures.”
