LeMoyne Arts is
delighted to announce its upcoming exhibition, “Halcyon Days: W. Stanley
‘Sandy’ Proctor Retrospective” a captivating showcase of one of Florida’s
most distinguished sculptors & painters. The exhibition will open on
Tuesday, October 1 2024, and will be on view through November 2, 2024.
Stanley “Sandy” Proctor, a
native Floridian and acclaimed sculptor, is celebrated for his exceptional
ability to capture the essence of his subjects through bronze. From his early
days in Tallahassee as a painter and stone carver to his current mastery of
clay and bronze sculpture, Sandy has garnered widespread acclaim. His work has
been featured at prestigious institutions such as the Smithsonian and the
British Museum of Natural History, and his monumental sculptures grace public
spaces and private collections nationwide.
The exhibition will honor the
impressive artistic legacy that he has established during his lifetime. Proctor’s
unique approach to sculpture focuses on his lifelike portrayals of human and
animal forms. His commitment to capturing the individuality and emotion of his
subjects is evident in each piece, reflecting his belief that the human form
conveys more than just physical appearance—it communicates essence,
personality, and history.
Opening Night Celebration

Bourbon & Cigar Tasting: On October 1, savor a curated
selection of fine bourbons & cigars while mingling with fellow art
enthusiasts. The tasting will take place from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm
and promises to be an evening of refined pleasure and engaging
conversation.Artist Talk:
Sandy Proctor will give an insightful talk on his artistic journey and
creative process on October 10, 2024, at 6:00 PM. This event offers a
unique chance to hear directly from the artist about his inspirations and artistic
