First Commerce Credit Union invites the Tallahassee community to participate in a free Community Shred Day on Thursday, April 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at their Summit East location. This event is designed to help individuals safely dispose of sensitive personal documents while promoting fraud prevention and identity protection. Held in partnership with Secure Records Solutions and the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Community Shred Day offers a secure and convenient way for community members to protect their personal information while tackling spring cleaning projects. Paper documents containing confidential or sensitive information will be professionally shredded on-site by Secure Records Solutions. Shredding services will be available from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., or until the shred truck reaches capacity, whichever occurs first. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, as service will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
Event Guidelines and Accepted Materials: Paper documents only, Limit of three (3) small boxes per household (banker’s box size). No batteries of any kind, including lithium, rechargeable, or alkaline batteries. No plastic bags, plastic folders, sealed boxes, or binders. No household waste or recycling materials. Staples do not need to be removed. Volunteers will be on-site to assist with unloading documents directly from vehicles.
Important Safety Reminder:
Please do not bring batteries of any kind.
