Erin Tilton Elected to ULI North Florida’s Capital Region Council

Stearns Weaver Miller announced that Land Development, Zoning & Environmental attorney Erin Tilton has been elected to serve on the Urban Land Institute of North Florida’s (“ULI North Florida”) Capital Region Leadership Council. ULI is a nonprofit research and education organization whose mission is to shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide. ULI North Florida encompasses 38 counties and includes private-sector members, public-sector members, as well as university students in real estate.

The Capital Region is served by a local board whose mission is to share best practices in real estate and to connect real estate leaders for the betterment of Tallahassee and the surrounding communities. The Board provides local leadership and implements initiatives like UrbanPlan, a
project-based learning curriculum unit for high schools and universities that brings together disciplines such as economics, city government, real estate and urban planning. Additionally, the board hosts its annual “Trends in Real Estate” program in three major cities: Gainesville,
Jacksonville and Tallahassee. This signature event brings together local and regional developers and reports on the national and local trends occurring in the real estate industry.

Erin represents private and public sector clients before local, regional, and state agencies, courts, and elected bodies on environmental, real estate development, and land use matters. She has experience advising clients on a wide-range of complex land use permitting and
entitlement issues. Erin is particularly skilled in developing and implementing litigation strategies as it relates to obtaining, challenging, and defending development approvals.

In addition to ULI North Florida, Erin is heavily involved with the Tallahassee Bar Association. For the past nine years, she has assisted the organization in various leadership roles including currently serving as President-Elect, Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Chair of the Marketing Committee, and Co-Editor of the Tallahassee Bar Bulletin. Erin is also involved with the Stetson Lawyers Alumni Association Advisory Council, The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate & Trust Law (RPPTL) Section, and serves as a volunteer judge for Leon County Teen Court.

Erin has been recognized as a Rising Star in Florida Super Lawyers, an Up & Comer for Florida Trend’s Florida Legal Elite, and on the Ones to Watch list for The Best Lawyers in America.
