Ep. 51 – “How the Red Cross is Providing Critical Services During a Pandemic” Sharon Council Tyler, Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross

As part of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce’s ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tallahassee Business Podcast, presented by 223 Agency, features conversations with a variety of guests who can share valuable insight to help our members in this trying time.

This week our guest is Sharon Council Tyler, Executive Director of the Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. Sharon and her team oversee Red Cross services across a twelve county area that stretches across North Florida. Powered by volunteers and driven by the support of donors and business contributors, the Capital Area Chapter of the Red Cross is charged with providing a myriad of disaster response services to those in need. This includes but is not limited to emergency shelter, hot meals, and financial support to those who are without due to a disaster. During our discussion, Sharon spoke to the impacts COVID-19 has had on their organization and what actions our community should be taking as hurricane season begins in Florida.
