Ep. 14 – Joseph Alter, FSU Student & Chamber Board Member

On this episode of the Chamber podcast, Florida State University Masters Student, Joseph Alter joins us to talk about his experience serving as a student representative on the Chamber Board.

Joseph joined the Chamber board in October 2018 as the first student representative. He shares insight on what he has learned and the connections he has made through the experience thus far. He also talks about his time in Tallahassee, his passion for business analytics and shares his connection to the late Skip Smith, who the student Board seat was created to honor.

Skip Smith, a long time Chamber Board Member and community leader, passed away in 2017. In remembrance, the Chamber created an Endowment to celebrate his life and recognize his generous service to the Chamber and Tallahassee community. Additionally, one of Skip’s passions was mentorship, so with that in mind, the Chamber Board created a program to add a student representative to the Board from FSU, FAMU or TCC.
