Elder Care Services Inc. Receives $5,000 Grant from Truist for COVID-19 Relief Efforts
TALLAHASSEE, FL, (August 17, 2020) — Elder Care Services Inc. announced today that it received a $5,000 grant from Truist Financial Corporation as part of its Truist Cares* initiative to help expand the services and nutritional support that Elder Care Services provides to the increased number of homebound seniors due to COVID-19.
Thanks to valued community partners like Truist, Elder Care Services has served over 41,000 meals since March, an increase of 12,000 meals compared to this time last year. These meals brought security and social relief to seniors in the safety of their homes.
“Elder Care could not serve the seniors of Leon County as we do without community support. We’re so thankful to Truist for their financial support to continue our mission of helping improve the quality of life for seniors and their caregivers,” said Jocelyne Fliger, Elder Care Services president & CEO.
In addition to prepared meals, Elder Care Services has provided 830 bags of food to seniors to help them avoid group environments in stores to protect their health and reduce food insecurity. The Truist grant will support continued efforts to serve seniors vital nutrition in safe environments.
