CEO Spotlight – Kelly Robertson, BowStern Marketing Communications

When you walk through the doors of BowStern Marketing Communications, you’ll notice something: people are happy. It’s such a simple concept, but one that is often challenging for companies to achieve in an industry that has become so competitive. Kelly Robertson, CEO and Co-Founder of BowStern, began with a mission to build a balanced, family-focused and community-oriented environment. Now, nearly 10 years later, she is proud to be at the helm of a company that maintains a strong focus on the needs of each individual employee, while continuing to expand its diverse portfolio of clientele.

Recognized as a confident go-getter, Kelly is the epitome of a dynamic leader. Having worked in the industry for nearly two decades, she has extensive experience creating and executing compelling campaigns for a wide variety of clients, amongst them recognized brands such as Cooper Tire, Gold’s Gym, Deep Brewing, Word of South, Le Grand Lodge, and The Diesel Brothers. Day-to-day, Kelly oversees the tactical implementation of all company divisions, ensuring that campaigns are bold and exceeding outcomes.

Leading the company with a penchant for innovation, Kelly has built the powerhouse agency with determination, a laser focus on the client experience, and of course a bit of fun along the way. Today, BowStern’s reach spans the globe with clients from Tallahassee to Toronto – and everywhere in between.

However, it’s not just the company success that drives employees to work there, it’s the combination of a creatively stimulating, collaborative, and balanced culture. BowStern’s Tallahassee office features an on-site nursery that allows new parents the ability to return to work while keeping connected with a little one just down the hall. Summer Fridays provide all employees the opportunity to work remote one day a week – plugging into inspiration outside the office. And when all else fails, the endless supply of cold brew coffee and draft beer on tap never disappoint.

Kelly, along with Tom Derzypolski, BowStern President & Co-Founder, is a firm believer in supporting the Tallahassee community. Their philosophy is a pledge to service – serve one another, serve our community, and serve our clients. Annually, BowStern donates more than $100,000 in marketing services to organizations and nonprofits in the local community. Crew members are also encouraged to pay it forward, on (and off) company time. Just last year, over 5,000 hours of volunteer service hours were recognized by the BowStern team.

With the company’s 10th anniversary on the horizon, BowStern’s momentum shows no sign of slowing down. The team has earned its reputation as a competitive, results-driven firm with a creative spirit that continues to produce innovative, memorable and next-level campaigns. Over the years, many team members’ hard work and dedication have contributed to this achievement, but its undeniable that the driving force behind it all is great leadership from a remarkable CEO, Kelly Robertson.
