Tallahassee, Fla. – Capital Regional Medical Center, an affiliate of HCA Healthcare North Florida Division, announce the addition of Jessica Smith, MD and Rajeshri Patel, MD, at Capital Regional Pulmonary Associates—further expanding access to critical pulmonary care for the residents of North Florida.
“It is exciting to expand our services and continue to meet the needs of the community by offering specialized pulmonary care,” said Alan Keesee, Chief Executive Officer at Capital Regional Medical Center. “Dr. Patel and Dr. Smith will make excellent additions to our medical staff and we welcome them to the Capital Regional family.”
Dr. Smith and Dr. Patel, both skilled medical practitioners, specialize in pulmonary care—helping patients with respiratory challenges, such as diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases, lung cancer, COPD and more.

Dr. Smith obtained her medical degree from George Washington University in Washington D.C., graduating with distinction. Dr. Smith pursued two medical residencies, one in General Surgery and the other in Internal Medicine, both at George Washington University. After completion of her medical residencies, Dr. Smith completed her fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at George Washington University. Before joining Capital Regional Pulmonary Associates, Dr. Smith worked as a Pulmonologist at Mercy Health Physicians in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Dr. Patel obtained her medical degree from Gujarat University in Ahmedabad, India. Dr. Patel pursued her medical residency in Anesthesiology at Sheth L. G. General Hospital in Amadavad, India, and also completed a second medical residency in Internal Medicine at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey. After completing her medical residencies, Dr. Patel also completed her fellowship in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Patel also obtained her MBA in Health Care Management from Hofstra University. Before joining Capital Regional Pulmonary Associates, Dr. Patel most recently owned and managed a Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine private-practice, with affiliation with Long Beach Medical Center and South Nassau Community Hospital in New York.
Dr. Smith and Dr. Patel are now accepting new patients at Capital Regional Pulmonary Associates located at 2770 Capital Medical Blvd., Suite 200, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
