Capital Health Plan’s Commitment to Quality Care Reaffirmed by Top NCQA Scores

Capital Health Plan, Inc., (CHP), the Big Bend’s local and trusted Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), is recognized for its commitment to providing high-quality care to its members. The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality, awarded CHP with top scores, maintaining its status among the best in the nation.

“We are deeply honored to once again receive this recognition from NCQA,” said Sabin Bass, President & CEO. “Our team’s focus and commitment to delivering high-quality care to our members is at the heart of our mission. Being one of the highest rated plans in the nation is something we take great pride in. As we continue to serve our community, we remain inspired and motivated by such recognitions.”

According to NCQA’s Private Health Insurance Plan Ratings 2023, CHP’s Commercial Plan is rated 4.5 out of 5 stars, making CHP the highest rated and only NCQA 4.5 star Commercial Plan in Florida.
NCQA’s Medicare Health Insurance Plan Ratings 2023 awarded CHP’s Medicare Plan a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars, with only one other Medicare Plan in the state rated 4.5.
Additionally, CHP scored a 5 out of 5 for “Member Rating of the Plan” and “Satisfaction with Health Care.”

“Achieving these NQCA scores wasn’t just an organizational goal. It was a promise to our community – a promise that CHP, with its rich history since 1982, continues to uphold with pride,” said Ken Boutwell, Chairman of the CHP’s Board of Directors.

Ratings are determined by integrating scores from the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®), feedback from the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®), and standards set by NCQA Accreditation. These scores encompass feedback from consumers and evaluate the effectiveness of different plans in both preventing and addressing health issues.
