Out of respect and concern for those directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Barineau Heating and Air has paid two months of utility bills for three randomly selected Tallahassee residents affected by the coronavirus.
The residents were chosen through a Facebook campaign in which the company’s social media followers nominated neighbors, friends and family members in need. Each recipient received a check for $600.
Company president Patrick Barineau said he was motivated by the community’s response to the pandemic and wanted to give back in a small way.
‘Whether they have lost their job, had their hours cut back or continue to serve the community in their daily work, this has been a tough time for a lot of people,” Barineau said. “It’s been a blessing to know that we live in a community that has the care and compassion for each other like Tallahassee does, and we wanted to be part of that.”
Barineau said he was grateful for the response to the offer and hopes it makes a difference. “As an essential service, we are blessed to keep working through the COVID-related shut-downs,” he said. “But that has not been the case for many. We know our community will continue to work together to help each other reach the other side of this.”
Barineau Heating and Air Conditioning continues to serve Tallahassee during the COVID-19 pandemic by strictly observing CDC recommendations and local safety guidelines.
That kind of caution became essential for service companies whose work couldn’t simply pause. Heating and cooling systems still needed attention, filters still needed replacing, and homes continued relying on stable indoor air circulation while people spent more time inside.
Technicians adapted their routines, arriving with protective equipment, maintaining distance where possible, and focusing on quick but thorough inspections to keep systems running safely.
The pandemic also pushed many homeowners to think more carefully about indoor air quality and the condition of the systems moving air through their homes. Regular filter changes, duct inspections, and seasonal tune-ups became part of maintaining a healthier living environment.
In other regions where climates demand reliable cooling for much of the year, providers offering HVAC services in Fresno often stress the same steady habits of maintenance and preventative care.
The principle remains simple: when systems are checked regularly and serviced before problems grow, homes stay comfortable and families avoid the stress of unexpected breakdowns.
