Capital City Youth Services (CCYS) has been awarded $200,000 from Chick-fil-A, Inc. through its 2026 Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards® program, which celebrates the work of nonprofit organizations creating meaningful, lasting impact in their communities.
The funding will help CCYS continue providing safe, supportive environments; counseling; prevention and intervention services; and family-focused programming designed to strengthen relationships, build stability, and promote long-term well-being.
“This investment from Chick-fil-A is truly transformational for CCYS, and the youth and families we serve,” said Gwynn Cochran Virostek, President and CEO of CCYS. “We are deeply grateful to Chick-fil-A for believing in our mission and to local Owner-Operator Terry Widener for championing our work. This support allows us to strengthen families, address challenges before they escalate, and ensure our youth have the stability and support they need to thrive.”
Founded in 2015 to honor the legacy of Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy, the True Inspiration Awards program annually supports organizations across the U.S. and globally that are making a positive impact in their local communities. CCYS is one of 56 nonprofit organizations to receive a True Inspiration Awards grant this year.
Terry Widener, Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Tennessee Street, appreciates CCYS for its comprehensive, family-centered approach and its ability to meet young people where they are while also engaging parents and caregivers as partners in positive change.
“CCYS has a unique way of supporting young people while also strengthening the families and communities around them,” said Widener. “Their work is rooted in compassion, accountability, and prevention. We’re proud to support an organization that is making such a meaningful difference here in Tallahassee.”
