Leon and Jefferson Counties Gain New Partner in Child Protection System with DISC Village

Transition Effective December 1, 2025

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Families across the region will soon have a new partner in their corner. Beginning December 1, 2025, DISC Village will assume child protection case management services through a partnership with the NWF Health Network.

This expansion reflects a shared commitment to providing steady, compassionate support for children and families while empowering the professionals who make that work possible. DISC Village and NWF Health Network are coordinating closely to ensure a smooth process that honors both staff and the families they serve.

“This partnership is about more than a change in providers, it’s about strengthening the circle of care around children and families,” said Mike Watkins, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NWF Health Network. “We’re proud to partner with DISC Village in creating a future where every child feels safe, supported, and seen.”

As DISC Village prepares to expand its role across the region, its leadership emphasizes that local experience and relationships will remain at the heart of the work.

DISC Village has been a trusted provider in the child protection system for more than five decades,” said John Wilson, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DISC Village. “We’ve worked hard to build and strengthen relationships with our child protection partners across outlying counties, and now we’re expanding that alignment to include the families and stakeholders in Leon and Jefferson Counties. Our local leadership is our strength, and we’re walking in with knowledge, heart, and a history of care.”

Both organizations are dedicated to transparent communication, staff engagement, and seamless care throughout the transition. They reaffirm their shared purpose to safeguard childhood, fortify families, and uplift communities with heart and honor.

“Our focus is on providing enhanced, trauma-informed support and maintaining the trusted relationships that families depend on,” said Jhaismen Collins, Family Services Director at DISC Village. “We are humbled by the opportunity to continue this work and deeply appreciate the dedication of the professionals and partners who make it possible.”

DISC Village and NWFHN remain united in giving every child a fair start, every family a foundation, and every community a chance to thrive. For additional information or updates, please visit discvillage.org.
