Florida State University Athletics and Truist today announced Truist as the “Official Retail Bank of Florida State Athletics” and the “Official Debit Card Partner of Florida State Athletics.” The agreement, which runs through 2026, makes Truist the cornerstone financial services partner of FSU Athletics. These designations build on the long-standing relationship between the two institutions, with Truist having been the Student Banking partner for Florida State University for over 20 years.
With community as a central focus of the partnership, Truist and FSU Athletics will collaborate on locally focused acts of care, including days of service, programs focused on literacy and educational equity, and more. Truist will also honor first responders and service members of the Nole Family through the Hero of the Game program to commemorate their dedication to community.
Additionally, Truist will team up with FSU Athletics to support student-athletes in a variety of ways. Truist will focus on women’s sports as presenting partner of “InspiHER,” a new platform created to recognize and celebrate FSU women’s sports and its athletes while collaborating on programs to inspire young women across the community. Truist will also provide financial literacy courses and curriculum to student-athletes on campus.
“We’re proud to support the FSU community, invest in student-athletes, and connect with fans as we grow our partnership with Florida State University to become the Official Retail Bank of Florida State Athletics,” said Joe Smith, head of sponsorships, experiential and local marketing at Truist. “Community is at the core of everything we do at Truist, and we’re excited to partner with the FSU Athletics brand to stand for better together.”
“We are very pleased to be able to partner with Truist on this landmark commitment through our LEARFIELD Seminole Sports Properties sales group,” Florida State University Vice President and Director of Athletics Michael Alford said. “The resources this association provides will benefit all our student-athletes and sports.”
Truist currently has a full-service branch and six ATMs on FSU’s campus in Tallahassee, helping students reach their financial goals through innovative products, services, and financial wellness education.
Truist will also have significant visibility at men’s and women’s athletics events and venues, through official digital and social media platforms, and through FSU Athletics’ multimedia assets.
The hallmark agreement was secured by Seminole Sports Properties, LEARFIELD’s local team solely representing Florida State Athletics. LEARFIELD is a media, data and technology services company in intercollegiate athletics. It unlocks the value of sports for brands and fans through an omnichannel platform with innovative content and commerce solutions.
