Following a successful time in the interim role, Monica Ross has officially been named Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer of Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH).
Since she assumed the interim role in July, the TMH Executive Leadership team and Board of Directors have been impressed with Ross’s leadership and ability to build relationships and work with all levels of colleagues, ranging from frontline workers to executive leaders.
TMH is the region’s largest private employer with nearly 6,000 colleagues working in a variety of clinical and nonclinical roles. As Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer, Ross is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy to support TMH’s organizational goals and strategic vision. Ross will lead the human resources department and all its functions including talent acquisition, total rewards management, training and continuing education, succession planning, colleague health, childcare center and employee relations.
Ross joined TMH last year as the Executive Director of Colleague Relations and Human Resource Administration. She is an adept human resources strategist and experienced attorney with over 13 years of legal experience, most recently as the Chief Legal Counsel at the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation.
Ross was born and raised in Tallahassee. She earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Florida, Juris Doctor from the Florida State University (FSU) College of Law and a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications from FSU College of Communication & Information. Ross is a certified Project Management Professional and Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional.
