Thomas Howell Ferguson P.A. CPAs (THF) recently hosted the 10th annual Insurance Conference on Financial Reporting (INCON) with the Florida State University Catastrophic Storm Risk Management Center. INCON is a conference for insurer CFOs, controllers, treasurers, and others who deal with insurer financial matters. This conference offers unparalleled opportunities to stay abreast of changes that impact the activities and financial reporting of insurance companies.
INCON was held virtually at the end of October. Attendees earned up to eight hours of continuing professional education (CPE) credits, including two AA credit hours. Topics included a Florida OIR update, potential key accounting issues, an economic update, investment strategies for insurers, regulatory framework, statutory and GAAP update, and more. Some of the speakers included the Florida Insurance Commissioner, David Altmaier; the South Carolina Commissioner of Insurance, Ray Farmer; the North Carolina Insurance Commissioner, Mike Causey; and other key speakers in the insurance industry.
