Tallahassee Chamber pushes businesses to invest in local college grads

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) — The Chamber of Commerce is working to keep more college graduates in Tallahassee.

Wednesday morning, the Chamber hosted a Talent and Workforce Forum.

The purpose is to bridge the gap between local colleges and businesses, in order to boost the capital city’s economy.

One way the Chamber hopes to accomplish this goal is through its program, Tallahassee Job Hop.

For one day, students from FSU, FAMU, and TCC spend a half day meeting with top Tallahassee companies.

“They find out they have an opportunity there as an intern or as a part time job. They learn they have a potential career there,” said Berneice Cox, Board Member for the Chamber of Commerce.

The Tallahassee Job Hop is offered to all local college students every fall and spring.
