TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) — The Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce has named Mark O’Bryant as its next chair.
O’Bryant is the CEO at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. He’ll replace outgoing chair Heidi Otway, who served for the last year.
O’Bryant said under his leadership, the Chamber will focus on reducing economic segregation, building a stronger workforce and retaining talent. He also said the organization will work to help lift Tallahassee as a whole.
“We recognize that if Tallahassee succeeds, it has to succeed as a whole. It can’t succeed in component parts. And with that I think we’ll take a much more aggressive approach to looking for ways to create economic alternatives for everybody,” he said.
He also noted there will be a refocused energy on helping the Tallahassee International Airport thrive. Last year, the Chamber pushed to look into having an outside authority run the airport instead of the city.
