We are excited to announce the latest addition to the Chamber team, Melinda Baker!“I was lucky enough to be raised in Tallahassee and enjoyed growing up in the beautiful rolling hills of North Florida. With long-standing roots in the Tallahassee community, I’ve had an extensive career in insurance, marketing and hospitality. I’m a proud graduate of Leon High School and attended the University of Florida. I started my career working in the family business at Rogers-Atkins Insurance and realized I loved the marketing aspect of business and helped oversee all marketing efforts for several professional liability programs insuring Osteopaths, Podiatrists and Chiropractors nationwide.
After living in Atlanta for a few years, I moved back to Tallahassee in early 2001 and worked for Seminole Boosters, Inc. assisting with their first Capital Campaign. I then had the opportunity to become the Membership Director at the University Center Club. After almost 10 years, I transitioned away from membership and became the Director of Marketing for Student Housing Solutions and then the Director of Real Estate Services for Benchmark Real Estate Services. After several years, the membership world was calling my name and I was lucky enough to come back to the University Center Club until it closed in December of 2021.
I’m very excited to be joining the amazing Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce as their new Membership Director. It feels like coming home!
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my longtime boyfriend Lee, my amazing extended family, traveling, reading and of course, going to the beach!”
