Support Our Students & Teachers – Adopt a Kindergarten Classroom

When we identified Community & Prosperity as one of our priority areas of focus, we knew that there was a correlation between the quality of life and a strong b24usiness community.

Research shows that the experiences and interactions a child has between ages 0-5 have long-term impacts on brain development. A solid foundation and early learning are critical for later success in school, health, career, and life. Children who start kindergarten with grade-level skills or higher are on track for a successful and satisfying education.

We are proud to have partnered with Leon County Schools and World Class Schools to ensure that our kindergarteners have a strong foundation for success. Classroom Connection is a classroom adoption program that gives our businesses an opportunity to support our students and teachers during the first year of elementary school.

In 2020, 38% of Leon County students were not ready for kindergarten and 39% of third graders, were not reading on grade level. These are alarming statistics we all need to pay close attention to as our students prepare to enter the workforce. It’s up to us to build a community of supporting adults who help foster the success of every child.

There are over 3,000 students entering kindergarten this fall and 168 kindergarten classrooms up for adoption. Will you join us in helping lay a strong foundation for our students? For more information on how you can get involved, visit www.TLHClassroomConnection.com.
