Meet Broker/Owner Heather Rybak
Heather Rybak earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Education degree from the University of Florida. She has extensive teaching and leadership experience from her 15 years in the classroom, on sporting fields, and behind the scenes of various educational institutions. Heather’s professional real estate career began in October of 2015. After just over two years as a REALTOR® with Campbell & Rosemurgy Real Estate in Broward County, Heather earned her Broker designation. Six months after relocating from South Florida to Wakulla County, Heather established Rybak Realty in July of 2018.
Heather leads Rybak Realty, was the 2021 Wakulla Chapter President of The Tallahassee Board of REALTORS®, is a graduate of the 2021 Anna Gallagher Leadership Academy, is a member of the 2021 TBR® Honor Society, and is the 2022-23 Chairperson for the TBR® Community Affairs Committee. She also is active in providing residential and investment real estate services. Being licensed in the state of Florida, Heather can assist in the buying, selling, and leasing of real estate in all 67 counties whether that be listing for sale a vacant lot in Crawfordville, showing single family homes to a buyer in Tallahassee, or referring a tenant to one of her connections in Fort Lauderdale.
7 Questions with Heather:
1. Name something important to you and explain why it is of importance? I could provide an archetypal answer to this prompt: my family’s well-being; community involvement; world peace. Those abstract concepts are important to me; however, a physical “thing” that is important to me is my pocket knife. My sister, who is also Rybak Realty’s #1 Realtor® in Volusia County, gifted me a Gerber knife 20 or so years ago. It has been in my pocket, carrying case, automobile door, dresser drawer, or temporarily misplaced for two decades. It is my protection and my tool. It has cut food, whittled wood, opened packages, and perpetually provided a modicum of security.
2. What is your WHY? For example: Why do you get up in the morning? What’s your purpose? Why are we here? I wake up in the morning because of rhythms. My body’s circadian rhythm literally causes me to wake up in the morning. After that, it is the rhythm that I have created for my life that gets me going. I created a family, and we have a rhythm that keeps us alive and progressing toward what we believe is happiness and good citizenship. I created a business, and there is a rhythm to keep the doors open and transactions closing. I created a sense of self, and there is a rhythm to my thought-pattern that keeps me focused on the future while enjoying the present
3. What are you afraid of? I am afraid of being run over while I am walking through a crowded parking lot.
4. What was a favorite childhood memory? I don’t have a favorite childhood memory. I enjoyed my childhood and have innumerable happy memories.
5. What does HOME mean to you? Home is where the heart is, so I am home when I am with my family.
6. Do you have any pets? Yes, I have a black cat. My kiddos named it Great White Shark.
7. If you were a superhero, which superpower would you have and why? If I were a superhero, my superpower would be the power to control the minds of others (and mine!). I like to be in control.
