In 2018, Karen and Richard Moore, owners of the marketing and public affairs agency Moore, invested in a five-year growth program leading to the agency’s 30th anniversary in 2023. The program goals were to expand client services, grow revenue, and develop the next generation of ownership and leadership. Terrie Ard, the agency’s president, chief operating officer, and minority shareholder, was responsible for helping guide the growth program, develop the management team, and lead them in serving the agency’s valued clients.
The successful program resulted in the expansion of the agency’s services. Moore realized a 79 percent growth in revenue, national and international industry recognition as a top elite agency by PRNEWS, and an unprecedented 92 percent team retention and 97 percent client retention.
Moore’s ongoing strategy is to build on its strong base in Florida, a state with dramatic growth and increased national prominence. In addition, the agency will continue to scale its centers of excellence nationally and internationally among the healthcare, workforce development, education, agriculture, and environmental industries.
“One of the most important things a leader can do is to identify and prepare the next generation of leaders,” said Karen Moore, CEO and founder. “The 30 years of Moore have been built on a strong foundation of support, guidance, and mentorship across the entire enterprise to develop, recruit, and retain the best and brightest professionals in the business.”
As a part of the leadership development program, Karen Moore and Ard have appointed seven leaders as Moore Partners, most of whom have been with the agency over a decade and collectively 90 years.
The current Partners include:
Karen Moore, APR, CPRC, CEO and Founder
Richard Moore, CFO and General Counsel
Terrie Ard, APRC, CPRC, President and COO
The new Partners include:
Andrea Blount, Vice President of Finance and Administration
Jordan Jacobs, APR, CPRC, Senior Vice President, Strategic Lead of MarComm and Creative
Audrey Goff, Vice President, Strategic Lead of Client and Partner Development
Nanette Schimpf, APR, CPRC, Vice President, Strategic Lead of Crisis Communications and Reputation Management
D’Arcy Toffolo, Executive Managing Director, Strategic Lead of Paid Media and Digital Innovation
Fern Senra-James, APR, Managing Director, Strategic Lead of Multicultural and Diversity Communications
Liz Underwood, Managing Director, Strategic Lead of Public Affairs
“Each of these Partners has been chosen purposefully and intentionally after years of working together, aligning our thinking, and sharing a vision,” Ard said. “This Partner program further emphasizes that we believe in always putting the team first. We have a philosophy that each employee at Moore is the most important asset in this company, which is why our culture ranks nationally among the highest in the industry.”
The award-winning agency will continue to evolve new leaders and Partners as the agency grows. To guide the strategic and investment planning for that growth, the agency established a newly formed Board of Directors chaired by Karen Moore, consisting of Terrie Ard, Richard Moore, and Andrea Blount.
With this appointed leadership team, the agency will evolve the roles of Karen Moore and Terrie Ard. Karen will lead the international expansion and will focus on her role as Chair of the Board of Directors. Terrie will continue to lead the Moore team and operations at the agency and expand upon the state and national corporate presence. Additionally, both Karen and Terrie continue to accept significant industry and community roles to increase the agency’s visibility by serving on local, state, national and international boards. In the future, Karen will transition to serve solely as Chair of the Board and Terrie will become CEO.
With the dramatic growth of the past 30 years and a vision for the future, Ard will be working closely with the newly appointed Partners to drive continued leadership, innovation and influence and propel the continued success and growth of the agency.
