Michael Eurich, Senior Director of Strategy, Policy, & Innovation for Big Bend Hospice, has been selected to serve on the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s (NHPCO) Legislative Affairs Committee for a second term. “NHPCO relies a great deal on its volunteer professionals to further the important work of advancing the field of end-of-life care,” says Edo Banach, JD, NHPCO President and CEO. “We value and appreciate Eurich’s time and talent.”
Eurich joined the BBH’s Foundation in 2011 and was instrumental in the success of the Jean McCully Family House capital campaign. In 2016, he transferred to the corporate side of BBH to help create Golden Age & Home and Transitions, a pre-hospice program. Recently, Eurich became a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator.
The NHPCO Legislative Affairs Committee supports activities related to advancing the legislative agenda of NHPCO. Activities include providing timely input on NHPCO’s legislative agenda, budget, and legislative proposals, and legislation. The committee’s work focuses on several areas including but not limited to the protection and improvement of the hospice benefit; the pursuit of legislative strategies to expand access for hospice patients and families; improving the quality by ensuring program integrity; and new reimbursement pathways for hospice and palliative care under Medicare including alternative payment models.
“Big Bend Hospice is extremely proud of Eurich’s nomination and selection to the NHPCO Legislative Affairs Committee,” says Bill Wertman, BBH CEO/Administrator. “With Mr. Eurich’s appointment, your Hometown Hospice is now represented at the national level of hospice care and legislation. We congratulate Michael and thank him for volunteering to serve.”
