Lively-Lincoln Automotive Training Center Expands Career Technical Education

Leon County Schools (LCS) is pleased to announce the expansion of the district’s career technical education initiative with the addition of an automotive facility on Lincoln High School’s campus.

LCS partnered with Lively Technical College (LTC) using the Florida Department of Education’s Get There Faster Career Dual Enrollment Pathways Expansion Grant to build this new automotive facility and purchase the needed equipment. This program helps prepares students for careers in the automotive industry through career dual enrollment in the LTC’s Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair Technician program. Lincoln is proud to have 107 students currently enrolled in the automotive program.

Lively Technical College Director, Shelly Bell, said, “The new Lively-Lincoln Automotive Training Center continues the commitment of Leon County Schools to expand career dual enrollment opportunities for students. We are grateful to the Florida Department of Education for a grant through the Get There Workforce Education Initiative, allowing Florida’s high school students to transform their career future.”

LCS, LTC, and Lincoln High School will hold an official ribbon cutting of the new facility on Thursday, October 6th, at 10:30 a.m. All visitors are asked to sign in with the administration office and will be directed to the new facility. Lincoln High School is located at 3838 Trojan Trail, Tallahassee, FL 32311.
