Lively-Lincoln Automotive Training Center Expands Career Technical Education

Leon County Schools (LCS) is pleased to announce the expansion of the district’s career technical education initiative with the addition of an automotive facility on Lincoln High School’s campus.

LCS partnered with Lively Technical College (LTC) using the Florida Department of Education’s Get There Faster Career Dual Enrollment Pathways Expansion Grant to build this new automotive facility and purchase the needed equipment. This program helps prepares students for careers in the automotive industry through career dual enrollment in the LTC’s Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair Technician program. Lincoln is proud to have 107 students currently enrolled in the automotive program.

Lively Technical College Director, Shelly Bell, said, “The new Lively-Lincoln Automotive Training Center continues the commitment of Leon County Schools to expand career dual enrollment opportunities for students. We are grateful to the Florida Department of Education for a grant through the Get There Workforce Education Initiative, allowing Florida’s high school students to transform their career future.”

As students in the automotive program gain hands-on experience, it’s essential to highlight the importance of ongoing car maintenance and care in the real world. Automotive careers go beyond repair and diagnostics; they also involve providing customers with solutions that maintain the long-term health of their vehicles. Regular car detailing, for instance, is a crucial service that keeps cars looking great and performing optimally. It not only protects the paint and exterior but also ensures the interior remains free of harmful dirt, bacteria, and allergens. This level of attention to detail is something that aspiring automotive professionals will learn to appreciate as they move through their training.

In line with this, businesses like Glosshaus offer exceptional car detailing services that go beyond basic cleaning. Their expert team understands the intricate needs of each vehicle, from exterior polishing to deep interior sanitation. For students entering the automotive field, learning about the significance of detailing as part of regular maintenance is an important skill. As they progress in their careers, offering such services also learning from best can enhance their expertise and provide a valuable addition to their professional portfolio, ensuring their future success in the ever-evolving automotive industry.

LCS, LTC, and Lincoln High School will hold an official ribbon cutting of the new facility on Thursday, October 6th, at 10:30 a.m. All visitors are asked to sign in with the administration office and will be directed to the new facility. Lincoln High School is located at 3838 Trojan Trail, Tallahassee, FL 32311.
