On Thursday, May 26, 2022, the Children’s Services Council (CSC) announced the Summer 2022 Funding Opportunity grant recipients.
Chamber staff, with support from CareerSource Capital Region, Lively Technical College, Office of Economic Vitality and Tallahassee Community College, submitted two applications. One application was for the Chamber’s TalentHub and the second application was submitted on behalf of ASPIRE Capital Region.
TalentHub is an interactive workforce development platform, that links recruitment, skill-building and career navigation into one collaborative system, deployed both online and as a mobile app. This resource is provided to the community at no cost to help youth explore careers and connect to local employers with job opportunities.
ASPIRE Capital Region is a collection of organizations that leverage the assets of partners and community stakeholders to bridge the gaps in the effort to scale education and workforce opportunities for youth and working-age adults in the community.
These programs were awarded grant allocations in the amount of $92,010.00 for TalentHub and $18,687.22 as the fiscal agent for ASPIRE.
The CSC has provided information on the selection process and approval of funds. First, a diverse panel of community volunteers scored each grant application and then the CSC board reviewed the scored applications and voted on which programs to approve for funding.
Supporting documents provided by the CSC to potential applicants included a section on youth development which included this language: “build occupational skills; expand career pathways; increase economic opportunities.” TalentHub and ASPIRE are programs that align with the CSC’s mission.
You will find two FAQ documents on the TalentHub and ASPIRE grants linked HERE for your reference and information. We look forward to providing updates on the success of both programs in our upcoming board meetings and in the weekly Chamber eNews. As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
Sincerely,
