TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) — The people from Mulligan Park Retirement home usually hold a “Fill-a-Truck” event two to three times a year. But Thursday’s event is more special than usual.

This specific event is being held to help Second Harvest as they continue to help hurricane victims. However, they are also providing for people with food insecurity locally.

This Thursday, they were out by East Park Avenue to help fill the truck with donations, and the list of supplies include water, canned food, chips and non-perishable items.

Several people in the community are stepping up to help, including Gary Moss from the Mulligan Park Nursing Home. He said, “We wanted to do something to help the folks that have been affected by this awful weather. We got our group of employees together and we went shopping and hopefully we made somebody’s day a little brighter somewhere down south.”
