The Big Event Tallahassee is a non-profit student-run organization. We will be hosting our annual service event, “The Big Event,” on February 27th this year. This event will involve groups of volunteer students from FSU, FAMU, and TCC working together to dedicate a day of service to the Tallahassee community. We have a comprehensive plan to follow COVID-19 protocols and guidelines to ensure the event is executed in a safe and effective manner with social distancing precautions. We are the largest student-run service event in Tallahassee and usually have upwards of 1000 volunteers; this year, we’re making sure that we limit each service site to a certain number of volunteers to ensure everyone’s wellbeing. Our event plan has been approved and backed by the Florida State University administration, and has received funding from various sponsors around town. Why I joined the Chamber
“When Earl Bacon founded his own insurance agency in 1963, one of the first things he did was join the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce. Our commitment to local economic development has not wavered in the 55 years since. The Chamber’s great programs – the Professional Women’s Forum, the CEO Series, the Annual Conference, and others – are the best way to interact with other local business owners and keep abreast of what is happening in the local community.”
