In this episode of the Tallahassee Business Podcast presented by 223 Agency, we are joined by Dr. Shawnta Friday-Stroud, Vice President of University Advancement and Dean of the College of Business and Industry at Florida A&M University. She also serves as a Board member for the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce. With college students returning to Tallahassee this Fall, Dr. Friday-Stroud and the administration at FAMU have been working diligently to create a safe and successful learning environment at one of America’s preeminent Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Between the implementation of virtual learning systems and enacting new student and faculty protocols to combat the spread of COVID-19, the vibe on campus is most certainly different this semester. Dr. Friday-Stroud speaks to those new realities as well as the unique and critically important relationship our local universities have with the business community. FAMU is part of the fabric of Tallahassee’s identity and Dr. Friday-Stroud paints a fascinating picture of the work being done to keep the university moving forward during challenging times.
