Elder Care Services hires new CEO, Jocelyne Fliger

With the retirement of Elder Care Services CEO Mark Baldino, the Board of Trustees conducted a national search for the ideal candidate to lead the agency into its 50th year as a senior service leader in the Big Bend. At the end of this search, Jocelyne Fliger was selected to lead the charge for area seniors.

Board Chair, Keith Bowers remarked, “as the Director of Volunteers and Engagement with our organization for the past 5 and a half years Josie has proven to be an invaluable member of our team.  The board is fortunate to be able to pass the reins of Elder Care Services to someone that has played such a major role in the fulfillment of our mission and has worked shoulder to shoulder with our staff, community partners and stakeholders to enhance the quality of life of elders in the Big Bend Community.”

Jocelyne found her passion in senior services while pursuing a Master of Social Work degree from Florida State University and later received a certificate in Gerontology. Jocelyn is an impactful, outspoken advocate for senior care and the importance of engaging seniors to prevent social isolation on the national stage. She serves as the Vice President of the National Association of Foster Grandparent Directors and a member of the Specialty Practice Committee – Aging Section of the National Association of Social Workers

As a member of the City of Tallahassee’s Human Relations Council her engagement extends beyond seniors to support the vitality of Tallahassee with the knowledge that healthy communities require all ages working together. Fliger states, “We cannot have a thriving society if we don’t take care of our seniors. I am excited to help even more people understand that fact in my new role.”

As Elder Care Services begins the year by reflecting on their 50 years as a nonprofit leader and all the outstanding executives who have been a part of the journey, they are excited to embrace this new chapter with a leader dedicated to high quality care for vulnerable seniors.
