Earn Cash for College: Virtual Workshop to Help Graduates Complete FAFSA Application

ASPIRE, the Capital Region Local College Access Network (LCAN) is calling all schools, districts, and communities to increase the number of graduating high school seniors completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This is an important step in helping students who qualify to access funds to pay for college. Join us Monday, May 17, 2021 at 6:00pm for a virtual workshop and step-by-step guide for completing the FAFSA application.

Experts from Florida State University, Florida A&M University, Tallahassee Community College, as well as school officials from throughout the area, will be available to guide you through the process. By the end of the evening, your FAFSA application will be complete. Completing the FAFSA is one of the most important steps in making college affordable for the 4 out of 5 Florida college students that rely on financial aid to go to college each year.

ASPIRE is partnering with Leon County, Gadsden County, Wakulla County School Districts as well as Lively Technical College, FSU, FAMU, and TCC to ensure that all students have the support they need to fulfill their post-high school dreams. “Our region needs 16,300 new jobs by 2030, with approximately 60% requiring education beyond high school,” states Corrie Melton, Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce. The collaboration of economic development, workforce, education, and community leaders all focused on talent will help us reach our goal. Getting kids to complete the FAFSA is a critical step.”
