Classroom Connection Resource Fund

In 2021, only 50% of Leon County students were ready for kindergarten.  Our teachers have been hard at work throughout the year to bring students up to grade level and lay a foundation for a successful educational journey.  As the school year comes to an end and the two-month break begins, summer learning loss occurs. Many students quickly forget what they learned in school last year, and low-income students fall even further behind.

The Classroom Connection Resource Fund is currently accepting donations supporting Leon County Kindergarten Classrooms at Bond, Oak Ridge, Pineview, Riley and Sabal Palm Elementary.  A $300 gift provides an entire classroom with school supplies to combat summer learning loss.  At the end of the year, each student will be sent home with a kit including books, flashcards and worksheets to stay on track to first grade.

Worksheets and other resources are an essential part of these kits, giving students an engaging way to reinforce the lessons they’ve learned. For families looking to further support their child’s education, PDF worksheets available online can be an incredibly valuable addition. These easy-to-access resources cover a wide range of subjects and skill levels, from reading comprehension to basic math, ensuring children continue to develop during the summer months. By combining the thoughtfully prepared kits provided by initiatives like the Classroom Connection Resource Fund with free, downloadable worksheets, parents can create a well-rounded summer learning plan that helps their child stay on track for first grade and beyond.

We hope you will consider donating and help us to create opportunities for academic growth and success.
