City of Tallahassee Spring Sports Registration Now Open

Spend time outdoors this spring with a variety of community sports leagues offered by the City of Tallahassee. With both youth and adult sports available, there are plenty of ways for people of all ages and activity levels to enjoy the City’s parks and fields in the coming months. Spring sports registration is now open at Talgov.com/Parks.

Youth Baseball
The City offers recreation league baseball for players ages 4-19 and competitive league baseball for ages 7-12. Tryouts are required for competitive baseball leagues. Registration is currently open, and deadlines close as early as Monday, Jan. 15. Youth Softball
Youth softball is available for girls ages 6-13, and teams are divided by three age groups. Softball practices will begin on Feb. 26, and the season will run through May 18. Registration is currently open through Friday, Feb. 2. For information about field locations, fees and equipment or to register a child, visit Talgov.com/Parks.

The Tallahassee Fast Pitch Softball Association also offers a fast pitch league for players ages 8-18. Registration for players ages 8-10 ends on Thursday, Jan. 18, and for players 11-14 ends on Thursday, Jan. 11. Tryouts are required for the 8-14-year-old advanced play leagues. Registration for players ages 14-18 in the recreation high school league ends on Thursday, Feb. 29. For more information about these leagues, visit Talgov.com/Parks.

Adult Beach Volleyball
Beach volleyball is available for adults 18 years of age or older. Both recreational and competitive 4v4 leagues are offered. 4v4 leagues play each Monday night at Tom Brown Park for eight weeks. King of the Beach and Queen of the Beach 2v2 leagues are also available. 2v2 leagues play six sets each Tuesday night at Tom Brown Park for eight weeks.

Adult Flag Football
Flag football is available for adults 18 years of age or older, and three levels of competition are offered for players of all ability levels. Double header games are played on Sunday afternoons at Tom Brown Park from March 3 through April 21. Registration is by team and is currently open through Friday, Feb. 23. Adult Softball
Slow pitch softball is available for adults 18 years of age or older, with coed, men, church, senior and women’s leagues. Teams will play one game per week on weeknights at Tom Brown Park from March 1 to May 17. Registration is by team and is currently open through Friday, Feb. 16. Officials and referees are needed year-round for both youth and adult sports. Officials are paid positions through the City of Tallahassee. Motivated and energetic individuals interested in applying should contact the City’s Athletics Division staff at 850-891-3866 for more information.
