Capital Regional Medical Center Partners with Covenant Care to Offer Palliative Care Services

Tallahassee, FL – Capital Regional Medical Center has partnered with Covenant Care to offer palliative care services to our patients. Palliative care is the specialized medical care of individuals across all ages with serious health-related suffering due to severe illnesses, and especially of those near the end of life. It aims to improve the quality of life of patients, their families and their caregivers.

“Palliative care offers patients comfort when they are being treated for serious illnesses,” said Trey Blake, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Capital Regional Medical Center. “The partnership with Covenant Care will help us improve the quality of life for patients and their families.”

Palliative Care is provided by a team of specialists, including doctors, nurses and social workers who work together with a patient’s other physicians to provide an extra layer of support.

“Introducing palliative care at Capital Regional Medical Center builds upon the excellent care our team has provided in the region for many years,” said Jeff Mislevy, President & CEO of Covenant Care.“

Access to palliative care is easy — it’s covered by most insurance, and patients just have to request it. To learn more about our Palliative Care Program, visit CapitalRegionalMedicalCenter.com.
