Blueprint currently has 31 active projects that are either currently under construction, will be in the next 5 years, or are in the planning or design phase. These projects are distributed across the community from the Orange-Meridian Placemaking project to Market District Placemaking from Bannerman Road to the Airport Gateway. The total investment in all active projects is over $515 million over the next five years, which is a combination of sales tax funding and leveraged funds. These projects improve safety, reduce traffic congestion and add open space and parks. Specifically, there are 31 active projects and subprojects, 22+ miles of improved roadway, 79+ miles of bike/ped facilities, 250+ acres of developed public space, and 8 new public parks coming to our town! Follow Blueprint on social to stay up to date on all the projects or visit Blueprintia.org.
Why I joined the Chamber
“In 2009 I had my ah-hah moment in regards to the impact of the Chamber of Commerce on our business. I accepted the award for Technology Company of the Year and a photo of that moment was captured by the Democrat and the Aegis Partnership (member just really doesn’t cover it) with the Chamber was off to the races in a new gear. We had been members for a while, but it was time to really engage for networking and community involvement. The next year I chaired Access Tallahassee (when I used to be young),went through Leadership Tallahassee, continued my run of 12 straight Annual Conferences, Business after Hours, Lunch and Learns, Committee involvement and more specific programs like the Light House of the Big Bend effort last year, very powerful. When people ask if Aegis is a member of the Chamber, I say yes, and let me tell you how it has helped our company. ”
